Why the Name Change to 'Verve Theatre Company'?

Stouffville Theatre Company has changed its name to 'Verve Theatre Company' to reflect the fact that it's playing in more regional venues and attracting actors and theatre operations folks from a wider geographical area.

"In the past few years we've played in a larger geographical area that includes Newmarket, Stouffville, and Uxbridge," said Marianne Lannigan, President of Stouffville Theatre Company, "so the name didn't really reflect who we were, especially since our actors come as far away as Cookstown. We also wanted our name to reflect the spirit of the company as we take on more ambitious projects like 'Stronger, Freer' and our latest production, 'Sylvia'".

'Sylvia' is a Broadway comedy being produced with cast and crew from Stouffville, Newmarket, and surrounding areas on February 28, March 1, 2, and 3 at the Old Town Hall in Newmarket. Tickets are available here..
